WHAT IS
FOOT PAIN

Foot pain can be the result of chronic overuse leading to muscle imbalances, stress fractures, tendon or fat pad inflammation or bursitis. It can also be due to more violent acute joint sprains that tear ligaments or cause displaced fractures.

The physio will test the foot for imbalances in range of motion, joint quality, ligament laxity and tendon integrity. Swelling & muscle spasm is noted & managed, serious pathology is imaged to define diagnosis. These imbalances are then managed with manual therapies and other modalities eg exercise, acupuncture ice or heat. Predisposing factors will be addressed to prevent recurrence.
